Condominio Monti is the result of the union of two early 20th-century buildings in the Monti district of Rome, to create this 900-square-meter boutique hotel, a few steps away from the Colosseum. The idea originated from entrepreneurs, who decided to combine two adjacent buildings to create a lively hospitality facility with bold interiors, while maintaining the typical characteristics of a Roman home. The renovation project left many of the existing structural elements unchanged, including a stairca se, while maintaining neutral cream tones for the attic and roof. The spacious terrace, entirely tiled with mosaic, offers an exclusive view of the apse of the Church of Sant’Agata dei Goti. Perforated steel railings, powder-coated, seamlessly blend with the historical context and create partitions that separate various dining areas. Bed headboards come in bright tones of cobalt, warm pink, and deep purple. Furniture com plements are more minimal, including steel tables with marble bases by Austrian designer Klemens Schillinger, PSLab lights, and Scandinavian furniture from Muuto. The lighting fixtures, also in neutral colors, descend from above, connected by a lattice supporting climbing plants. Common spaces, including a restaurant and a bar, have been located on the ground floor. In the interior spaces, color has been boldly applied with soft-toned paints from the online sales-speciali zed English company, Little Greene.
