The store finds its space in the heart of Trastevere, the largest neighborhood in Rome, "beyond the Tiber River". The old and solid walls of the current Sounds Familiar Store housed a 40sqm car garage, hiding under the false ceiling large wooden beams eaten by woodworms; we obviously decided to give it a new life through a long cleaning and restoration work. The small size did not require any masonry work except for an area dedicated to storing goods. We focused on the study of the furnishings, trying to revisit the listening stations, record players and classic DJ consoles, unifying them from a chromatic and structural point of view. The color palette studied mixes cold tones for the walls to frame the lobster iron structures, the compact and semi-gloss texture of the purple carpet gives a "soft touch" effect that evokes the elegance and environments of the 70s alongside a large double-thickness chenille curtain made of high-quality polypropylene fibers that acts as a backdrop for the console, picking up the color of the walls and interspersing it with ice.
